ANEMONE Project at the Integrated Marine Pollution Monitoring 2017-2019 Program – Black Sea Regional Monitoring and Assessment Workshop, Trabzon, Turkey, 27-28 November 2018
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization is responsible from the execution of the National Monitoring Programme covering eutrophication, contaminants, seabed and water column habitats and biodiversity elements for the coastal and marine waters. Ecological and chemical quality assessments as well as the assessment of pressures and impacts have been made and the monitoring data have been reported to the BSC and UNEP/MAP. At the national level, apart from the annual reporting of data and the assessments made, a summary state of marine environment report is prepared every 3 years for each of the four seas; Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean and these reports have been published in both Turkish and English. Marine monitoring activities, named as “Integrated Marine Pollution Monitoring Programme” coordinated under the supervision of TUBITAK-MRC, have been carried out regularly in three years period since 2014. Before, it had been executed annually causing gaps in winter period data.
Integrated Marine Pollution Monitoring 2017-2019 Program – Black Sea Regional Monitoring and Assessment Workshop was organized by TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MRC) in 27-28 November 2018 in cooperation with Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) –Trabzon, Turkey. ANEMONE Project was presented in the session on “Management Processes and Supporting Projects” and attracted great interest from participants.
